Time according to Ben

Today, a very excited Ben got a Skull watch. All day he would look at his watch and tell me what time it was. 1:00 was Time for Wyatt to go to bed, etc. At 2:00 I asked him, "what time is it?" He ran upstairs and returned with a chocolate bar and said, "time for chocolate candy!" Time according to a child...I LOVE it!

Ben's First Day at Preschool

I never thought I would be one of THOSE moms who PAYS someone else to teach MY child his ABCs, colors, etc. But I have joined the club and let me tell you...the BEST $150 a month I will ever spend. I would rather have him in preschool than have cable, a fancy phone, etc. And not for the wonderful fulfilling education...but for the break for me!!! I love him so much more not having him in my preschool class. It is best for all. (Ben if your future self reads this, wait till you have kids and then judge me, okay? I DO love you!)

4th of July Vacation

We went camping at Estes Park over the holiday weekend. We went with some friends of ours the Tidwells. Paul made the boys and I hot diggidy dogs in the POURING rain and tossed them to us in the tent. We only camped one night...long enough in the rain and with screaming Wyatt. Paul slept with him in the car. Thanks Paul! I woke up nice and refreshed, I don't think he would report the same. We hiked ALL the following day, saw waterfalls and pretty lakes. Wyatt fell asleep in the hiking backpack. Ben wet his pants, wore just my sweatshirt, and whined about how tired his legs were. Not too bad for all the hiking we did. Saturday night we had a PAR-TY with a big group of our friends...it was SOOO much fun and we think the camping trip and the party should become Mendenhall traditions!
